In idyllic Shannon Harbour, the restored Harbourmaster’s House was built in 1806 and sits on the banks of the Grand Canal. It offers a scenic rooftop balcony, full Irish breakfast, and free private parking. Light airy, each of the rooms at The Harbourmaster’s House features an en suite bathroom, a TV, and tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast is served in the spacious dining room overlooking the pretty gardens. Guests can enjoy a selection of continental breakfasts with fruits, cereals and homemade brown bread, as well as traditional cooked breakfasts. The pubs, shops, and boats for hire are all within 50 metres of the B&B. Birr Castle is a 15-minute walk away, and the famous monastery of Clonmacnoise is 30 minutes’ drive from the house. Fishing can be enjoyed either on the canal which is right outside the front of the house or on the nearby River Shannon. The property are able to advise guests on great fishing locations, while the house can store your bait and fish.
