John en Dorcas Milner zijn al 23 jaar de de eigenaren van The Gables Hotel en wonen al 38 jaar in het dorp Haswell Plough. The Gables Hotel heeft een zeer goede reputatie voor zijn fijne Engelse delicatessen. Het is aanbevolen door de AA en Les Routiers. Het restaurant is klein, maar knus en gezellig.
