Featuring beautiful sceneries of the woods, Ryu Resort and Spa is located in the tranquil Shokawa Highland area, a 35-minute drive or free shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. Guests can soak in the natural hot spring bath, both indoor and open-air, or engage in outdoor activities. This resort went through a complete refurbishment and has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor in 2016. Free WiFi with speeds up to 100 mbps is available in all rooms and public areas. Room features tatami (woven-straw) flooring and Japanese futon bedding. A spacious living room area includes a flat-screen TV, a refrigerator, and an electric kettle. The en suite bathroom features amenities and slippers. All rooms have been renovated in January 2015. A tennis court and outdoor swimming pool is open during the summer season. Guests can go hiking, or light trekking around the surrounding 300,000 square metres of land. The property is a 40-minute drive from both Shirakawago Historic Village and Takayama Historical Old Town. Dynaland and Takasu Snow Park are respectively a 35 and 30-minute drive away.
