The Casa da Choqueira is located in a rural area in northern Portugal, between Cabreira and the Gerês. The century-old granite house was completely rebuilt, featuring a seasonal outdoor swimming pool with a scenic mountain view. The house’s comfortable air-conditioned rooms include a private bathroom, free WiFi and a flat-screen TV. Some of the rooms feature views of the mountains. For dining options, several local restaurants are available within a 5-minute drive from the property. The region has a rich and varied cuisine, with dishes such as the roasted lamb or the traditional Portuguese Stew. Casa da Choqueira features a cozy living room with a terrace overlooking the Caniçada Lake. The renovated old cellar was turned into a games room that guests can freely enjoy. Herds of cattle and flocks of sheep pass in front of the house’s entrance on a daily basis. The Gerês, with its scenic landscapes and green surroundings are a 23-minute drive from the Choqueira. The area allows guests to explore many outdoor activities such as hiking or a quiet picnic. Casa da Choqueira is an 18-minute drive to Vieira do Minho and a 41-minute drive to the historical Braga. The Porto International Airport is a 71-minute drive from the property.
