Family-run for over 50 years, Gasthaus Matheidl offers a quiet location at the edge of the forest, about a 10-minute walk from the centre of Ferlach, Austria's southernmost town. The surrounding area is ideally suited for cycling, hiking (such as in the famous Tscheppa Gorge) and swimming (in the Ferlach-Ressnig lido or in Lake Wörth, only 20 km away). The Slovenian border on the Loibl Pass is only 12 km away from Gasthaus Matheidl, and the Italian border 60 km.
